Juvenile boot camps (a.k.a. teen boot camps or youth boot camps) are usually state funded and used as a substitute for juvenile detention centers. Rather than send kids to a jail situation they send them to a youth boot camp. It is hard to find a teen boot camp that has open enrollment to the public.
Over the years these types of programs have had a number of problems. There are many studies that show juvenile boot camps to be inadequate in rehabilitation of troubled teen behavior. We do not recommend any youth / teen boot camps. Based on the findings of research we focus our efforts on placement of teens to treatment centers more effective than boot camps.
