Group homes usually accomodate up to 12 youths. They sometimes have a therapeutic component to the youth program as well as some education services so the teen doesn't get behind when they return home. Teen group homes are usually in a residential setting where they are removed from negative influences at home. It should never be assumed that a group home for teens includes group therapy, 12 step program, or schooling. A better option is usually a residential treatment center or a specialty boarding school for teens with lesser therapy needs. We would be happy to provide you a list of options.
